Dr Mervyn Yewe-Dyer (GDC number 40615)
Dr Mervyn Yewe-Dyer is one of the most highly qualified and experienced dentists in the country. He has taught at Guy’s and Manchester Dental Schools, been an Honorary Consultant at Edinburgh Dental Hospital, and been Dental Advisor to the Ombudsman. He is also a multiple prize winner.
His qualifications include Bachelor of Science (Hons. London Univ.), Bachelor of Dental Surgery (London Univ.), Master of Science (Manchester Univ.), Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (in Dental Surgery), and Fellow of the Faculty of General Dental Surgery.
Dr Yewe-Dyer has also been an Examiner to the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh; and also to the Universities of London and Manchester.
Mrs Pam Woolford - Dental Hygienist
Pam Woolford is a highly respected and highly qualified Hygienist.
She trained and University College as a Dental Nurse, then Guy’s Hospital as a Hygienist, gaining prestigious prizes en route, including the Oral B prize for best all-rounder at Guy’s Dental Hospital.
Pam spent some years as a Tutor at the highly regarded Eastman Dental Hospital.
Pam has a BSc (Hons. First Class) and MSc (with Merit) in Nutritional Medicine and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health. She also has a Diploma in Dental Health Education, has a Health Promotion Certificate, and is a Chartered Biologist.
However, it is Pam’s clinical skills that she is known for. Many of her patients come on personal recommendation and her clinical abilities are second to none. If you have any type of gum problem, Pam is almost certainly the best person to sort it out.

Care Quality Commission (CQC) Report of the Practice
The Care Quality Commission inspected the practice in the Spring of 2012. They found that 'Gentle Dental Care - Alton' was meeting all the essential standards of quality and safety.
